Washington Crossing is a small village located in Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County. The village is famous for Washington’s crossing of the Delaware on the night of December 25–26, 1776 during the American Revolutionary War. Every Christmas Day the town performs a re-enactment of Washington crossing the river. As part of Washington’s Crossing, the community was named a US National Historic Landmark in 1961.
